Give to the Ben Linder Memorial Fund

Ben Linder

Ben Linder (read more) was an engineer from Portland who lived in Nicaragua for 4 years and completed a small hydroelectric plant in El Cua, providing electricity to the town for the first time. Ben was doing preparatory work for a second plant when he and two Nicaraguan coworkers were killed in a contra ambush 20 years ago. ATDER—BL (Asociacion de Trabajadores de Desarrollo Rural—Benjamin Linder) was formed by  Ben's coworkers after his death and continues its mission to carry forth the work that Ben Linder had been a part of to bring sustainable, renewable, and small-scale power to poor villages that are "off the grid" of Nicaragua's power system.
