Join us for a tour of micro-hydro and forest protection projects – participate in prioritized community service projects!  Over the last 14 years, the ATDER-BL has built several hydroelectric plants in the frontier area of northern Nicaragua, a wild and isolated land that is off the national electricity grid and largely "beyond the end of the road."  Projects have served as catalysts for social development, environmental protection, potable water delivery, and renewable energy.  Cost: $1500 excluding international airfare to Managua.  ATDER~BL exists to carry on the legacy of Portland native Ben Linder – a engineer focused on delivering micro-hydro powered electricity -- he was killed in 1987 by the US backed Contras. www.greenempowerment.org/sub-pages-nic/bl.html
