Greenstar designs portable community center powered by solar energy. The community center may include a water purifier, a small clinic, a vaccine cooler, a classroom, a digital studio, and a satellite or wireless link to the Internet. Greenstar works with local people develop an e-commerce websites, showcsing the work of local musicians, teachers, and art professionals. Greenstar currently works in Palestine, Jamaica, India, and Ghana.

Sustainable Village works in appropriate technology. It says it is is “The world's largest selection of appropriate technology and renewable energy products.” It has many NGO partners around the world, and provides networking opportunities to connect projects and resources.

Engineers Without Borders – USA’s mission is to help disadvantaged communities improve quality of life through implementation of environmentally and economically sustainable engineering projects, while developing internationally responsible engineering students.

The Global Ecovillage Network is an international group of people and communities that meet and exchange ideas and technologies, develop cultural and educational exchanges, directories, and newsletters. The network members are dedicated to restoring the land-- putting more back into the environment than they take out.

NRECA has been working internationally since 1962. In that year, it began to share its successful experiences in electrifying rural areas of the United States with other countries. NRECA helps to bring the benefits of electrification to rural people across the world.

Winrock’s mission is to help the poor and disadvantaged. It works in agricultural issues, ecosystem services, forestry and natural resource management, leadership development, and clean energy.

Global Envision, a project of the internatonal relief and development NGO, Mercy Corps, promotes discussion on globalization and the increase of open markets around the world.
