Green Empowerment depends on generous individuals like you to make our life-changing work a reality. As a registered, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your contributions to Green Empowerment are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law.

Contribute Now

Every gift has an impact!  We use your gifts to leverage donations from suppliers and other donors to have the greatest possible impact.  Your donations directly support bringing clean water, electricity and cooking gas to families that have never had them, saving many hours of manual labor — often performed by women and children — that can now be used for studying, increasing earned income, and eliminating the devastating health effects of burning wood and kerosene use inside homes.

Circle of Renewal: Monthly Giving

Green Empowerment’s Circle of Renewal is a group of individuals who commit to making a gift each month to promote community-based renewable energy projects that generate social and environmental progress, helping to eliminate poverty, inequity, and natural resource degradation.

For instance, just $10 per month provides one family of 4 with an ample supply of clean water for the next 20 years (delivered via a ram pump system). Your donation, automatically transferred each month from your checking account, provides steady, reliable support — allowing us to initiate life-changing projects more quickly, plan more effectively, and reduce administrative costs.

Planned Giving

Any meaningful gift that has the ability to affect lasting change requires careful consideration and planning. You can choose from an array of giving options — from assorted trust arrangements to naming Green Empowerment as a beneficiary in your will. Creating a giving plan that integrates your financial and philanthropic goals can be a tremendously rewarding experience personally, and an experience which inspires sustainable development globally from the community level on up.

Michael Royce, retired Portland Attorney and Planned Giving participant:

“Both of my parents were strong supporters of Green Empowerment and were involved from the beginning. My father was a founding Board member and my mother was on the Advisory Board. They made the decision to split their estate between family members and several charities, and were very pleased to include Green Empowerment in that estate planning. Our family is happy to know that our donation will be used for many years in support of the vital mission of Green Empowerment.”

We welcome the opportunity to help you explore your planned charitable giving process. Please contact Dexter Gauntlett to discuss how Green Empowerment can be a part of your gift to the rest of the world, or 503-284-5774.
